BICENTENNIAL MAN

This is a Disney film (!) which stars Robin Williams, Sam Neill ("Jurassic Park"), Wendy Crewson (she was Tim Allen’s ex-wife in "The Santa Clause"), Embeth Davidtz (she played "Miss Honey" in "Matilda"), Lindze Letherman and Hallie Eisenberg (she played "Marie", the little girl, in "Paulie"… plus a lot of people know her from those great Pepsi commercials). It is produced and directed by Chris Columbus, who also made "Adventures in Babysitting", "Home Alone 1 & 2", "Only the Lonely", "Nine Months" and "Mrs. Doubtfire", which also starred Robin Williams.

I am Hallie’s photo double (well, once they curl my hair and put some extensions on) so when you watch the movie and you see Hallie’s feet or see her from the back, chances are it’ll be me. Jessica is Lindze’s photo double, Erica is Lindze’s stand-in and Rebecca is Hallie’s stand-in… so the six of us (me, Hallie, Lindze, Jessica, Erica and Rebecca) had a great time on the set and in school and carryied on like sisters with our great set teacher Bonnie (love you Bonnie!). All the cast and crew were so nice and it was just so much fun!

The pictures above described in rows from left to right…

Row 1:

(1) me and some guy that wandered in the picture… just kidding, of course that’s Robin Williams!!!;

(2) Robin as "Andrew"

(3) the "Bicentennial Man" poster.

Row 2:

(1) "Andrew" and Hallie play a song;

(2) Andrew and Hallie collect drift wood

Row 3:

(1) me and Robin Williams;

(2) Hallie shows how strong she is (or how light I am) by carrying me;

In "Bicentennial Man" (it was previously titled "Andrew Martin"), Robin Williams plays a robot that becomes more and more human and more and more a part of his (not its) family as time goes by… it’s funny and touching at the same time… it was shot mostly at Treasure Island with location shots in Half Moon Bay, Woodside/Redwood City, Belmont/Redwood Shores and City Hall of San Francisco for all the court scenes (Andrew fighting for the right of androids/robots to open a savings account, then for the right of independence, and finally to be ruled human and to marry… boy, he sure does go to court a lot… Sam Neill plays "Sir" (the Dad), Wendy Crewson plays "Ma’am" (the Mom), Lindze plays "Miss" (the not-so-nice big sister) and Hallie plays "Little Miss" (when Little Miss grows up she is played by Embeth)… Oliver Platt is also in the movie but I didn’t get to see him on set… well, that's about it... I'm sure by now most of you have seen the movie on video or DVD or even pay per view... I didn't get to go to the premiere or even get my name on the credits but... it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot... hopefully the next time I do a "studio" movie, I can get a few lines in there... one of these days... but it was still fun and I'll never forget it!
